Their Story So Far:
Formed in 2018, Your Favorite Color is an alt-pop band hailing from Huntington Beach, California, thanks to a shared love of music and the ocean. Over the years, the band had toured along the coastline, becoming close friends and collaborators as they fine-tuned their sound. The release of their debut LP “For You” in 2024, as well as performances at SXSW 2024 and across Europe opening for The Driver Era, has made it clear that this up-and-coming band is an exciting act that you’ll want to keep your eyes on.
What They’re Up To:
The timing’s lined up just right for you to get into their band - their latest single “Where Did It All Go Wrong?” was just released on July 18th. It’s a single unlike anything else they’ve done before, far more vulnerable than the rest of their catalogue. With intimate vocals and a calmer, stripped-down sound, the song sets itself apart from most of the other songs in their catalogue. The band shared the following statement about the meaning of the piece:
“This song is about battling identity, isolation, and emotional disconnection after moving to Los Angeles — the weight of regret and confusion that comes from setting out to transform, only to end up lost in the process.”
What To Listen To:
Obviously, you should be checking out their latest single, but we know you’re probably looking for more than just one song. Be sure to check out their other recent singles, “Less In Love” and “Forever.” You should also add their biggest hits, “Medicine” and “Hold Me Now,” to your playlists - the popular songs are always big for a reason.
