Body Is On Fire- Maris Song Review
by Kelsie Barlow | February 19th, 2026
Rising star Maris recently released her highly anticipated single Body is on Fire on DATE. She teased the song on TikTok, and it quickly gained interest from fans both old and new. This 80s vibe synth-pop song has the lyrics and passion to put listeners in their feels. She is also known for songs like The Fight, It’s Hard (To Be a Man), Super F*cking Mega Star, and her collaboration with Caroline Kingsbury that went viral last year, Give Me A Sign. In the song, Maris sings about her craving for physical touch from her partner. “My body is on fire, come on baby put me out”, Maris sings in a slowly descending vocal range. Speaking of vocal range, Maris showcases the range that only a few professionals are able to achieve.
Released alongside the song was a music video that oozed with lust, passion, and just plain fun. In the video, Maris is between two partners of differing genders, and just needs their touch. There are also sequences where Maris is dancing with a group, and touch again becomes a huge theme within their movements.
Maris was also recently a part of Vevo’s Discover series, where she would perform the song live in the studio, and have a performance video air on their YouTube channel. In this performance, Maris wore a top over her undergarment that was completely made of can tabs, and it was a beautifully memorable look for this video. Though the performance was just her and her drummer in the room, Maris brought the energy that you’d expect to see during a sold-out show. Her dance moves were full of pep, and I could feel her dedication to her craft and the song through my screen. There’s no doubt in my mind that Maris will gain many more fans from that performance.
Body Is On Fire has been dominating my playlists and is likely to be a top song of the year for me. I love the yearning and unapologetic need displayed through the lyrics, and I, as usual, am in awe of the vocal talent Maris continues to show throughout her discography. Last year, Maris and Caroline Kingsbury embarked on the co-headline “Give Me A Tour,” and I know fans are eager to see if Maris will hit the road again this year. I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Maris at the Chicago date of “Give Me A Tour”, and her electric stage presence and somehow even better live vocals have me itching to see a show from her again. Take it from me and add Body is On Fire to your playlists, and keep an eye on all news Maris in 2026. I have a strong feeling that this will be her year.
