Looking for a new alt-pop, bubble grunge band to add to your playlist? Female power duo Daisy Grenade is a great place to start, and with the full support of Fall Out Boy behind them, you know they’ve gotta be good.

Their Story So Far:

Hailing from New York City, Daisy Grenade is led by Dani Nigro and Keaton Whittakker. They aspire to make diary-entry-like songs, bringing you through the growing pains of being a woman in today’s society. With raw emotions, wrapped up with femininity as a weapon, and a theatrical touch on top, they’re turning bubble grunge into something catchy and sharp with a side of something sweet. They’ve hit the jackpot early on, being signed to DCD2 Records and having the full backing of Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy, who served as their executive producer for their first two EPs. Wentz even went as far as to give him his song “Baby Blackout,” which was written for a previous band of his.

What They’re Up To:

They’ve had a busy time touring with high-profile bands so far, opening for Waterparks, Fall Out Boy, and Pierce The Veil over the past two years. They’ve also opened for some other bands that are pretty popular in the scene - jxdn, State Champs, and Meet Me @ The Altar, to name a few. They’ve also had the chance to play at several festivals, including So What?! Music Fest, Sad Summer Fest, and When We Were Young 2024. Currently, they’re wrapping up their tour with Honey Revenge, and the only thing booked for them in the future is the Emo’s Not Dead Cruise in 2026 - but I’m sure there’s more to come.

What To Listen To:

Their latest single, “Don’t Sweat It,” was released just a couple of weeks ago and promises to fill your needs of having a song of the summer. Their other recent single, “So Happy,” was released in May and is a complete 180 in terms of vibe, being grungy and straightforward about being in love with being a hater. They’ve also got covers of popular songs under their belt, if you want to check out something familiar repurposed into something new, such as “Taste” by Sabrina Carpenter, Nirvana’s “Polly,” and Pierce the Veil’s “King For A Day.” Other songs that I like and think you should check out, if you’re willing to take my advice, are “How To Hide A Body” and “Riot.”
