Ten weeks, 30 shows, and countless memories later, Harry Styles brought his Madison Square Garden residency to a close on Halloween night. And what better way to end the run than with two nights of Harryween? This year’s celebrations brought together a little nostalgia, a lot of New York spirit, and a fitting end to a record-breaking residency.
Night one began with Harry dressed as Elvis, an appropriate choice for an artist who has become somewhat of a music icon in his own right. But Harry wasn’t the only one dressed for the occasion. His band joined in on the Halloween festivities, with each member dressing as a different era or notable moment in Harry’s career.

Together, the costumes told the story of Harry’s journey as an artist. Laura and Lorren represented Harry’s Coachella headlining performances, while Ariza recreated a Wembley look from Love On Tour 2023. Mitch paid tribute to Harry’s first Grammy performance, Pauli recreated his first Met Gala look, and Yaffra represented the Brit Awards performance. Dancers Aysia and Rubia brought the As It Was music video to life, while Elin recreated the Fine Line album cover, and Sarah represented his current era.
But Harry had one more surprise.

Later in the evening, he changed into the exact outfit he wore for his X Factor audition 16 years ago, marking the beginning of a career that has since taken him from a singing competition to sold-out stadiums and some of the biggest stages in music. He followed the outfit change with a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely,” the same song he sang during that audition.
There was something particularly special about seeing Harry, dressed as Elvis and surrounded by his band representing different stages of his career, eventually return to the boy who started it all. It was a full-circle moment that didn’t need much explanation. For the many fans who have followed him since 2010, watching him recreate the moment that introduced him to the world made the night feel like a shared celebration of just how far he has come and how far he has left to go.
If night one was a look back at Harry’s journey, night two took a slightly different direction that no one could’ve predicted.

For Halloween night, Harry arrived dressed as a New York City rat, fitting for an artist who has never been afraid to have a little fun. His band joined in, dressing as various people and things connected to New York City and the wider music and entertainment world, from street-cart hot dogs to Cher. The night also brought a musical surprise when Harry performed Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer,” a fitting addition to an evening celebrating the city where the band was formed.
Halloween night also marked Harry’s 30th and final show at The Garden and a record-breaking residency. Following a performance of “Coming Up Roses,” Harry was joined on stage by New York Knicks player Jalen Brunson, conveniently dressed as Harry himself, to present the singer with his commemorative 30-night banner.
Much like when he received his first 15-night banner four years ago, the presentation was one of the most emotional moments of the residency. Having attended the Knicks’ own banner celebration, it felt fitting that Brunson was there to celebrate Harry’s achievement. The moment also left fans looking ahead to what the final night of the Together, Together tour at Wembley Stadium next year might feel like.
And, in true Harry fashion, he wasn’t quite ready for the night to end. After performing “Sign of the Times”, he kept the party going with “Aperture,” the lead single from Kiss All The Time, Disco, Occasionally, performing it not once but twice. It was one last opportunity to dance with the crowd before saying goodbye.
For the fans in attendance, the significance of the night went beyond watching a record-breaking achievement or celebrating Halloween. Jada shared, “Harry means so much to me as an artist and a person, but watching him get his banner was so special and I’m beyond proud of him. And seeing him dressed in his X Factor outfit healed something in me.”
Elise also reflected on the experience, saying, “I loved getting to experience him getting his record-breaking banner (even in a rat costume) and seeing him refuse to get off the stage and party with the entire arena one last time.”
It’s difficult to separate the milestone from the people who helped make it possible. Thirty nights at The Garden is an achievement in itself, but the residency was also a reminder of the relationship Harry has built with his audience. From the costumes and dancing to the moments that brought fans back night after night, the fans became just as much a part of the experience as the shows themselves. As the final night came to an end, Harry took a moment to address the fans, reflecting on the past ten weeks.

“You’ve been wonderful tonight; you’ve been wonderful every night. Thank you for showing up, for dressing up, for making us feel so loved and being so wonderful to us. Thank you so much. You’ve changed my life over and over again, and I get to remember every moment in here. I have loved it so much. There are people on the other side of the world; they deserve your love and respect, and you deserve theirs. I hope to see you again very soon, New York. You’ve been incredible. I love you so much. You’ve brought me so, so much. Thank you for dancing with me. When I made this album, this is how I wanted it to feel. Good evening, New York. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
