Peach PRC is an Australian pop-singer and internet personality known for her bubblegum pink aesthetic and eccentric pop sound. You may have heard her most popular songs find their way across tiktok, ‘God is a Freak’ and ‘Josh’. I first found Peach back in 2020 when her tiktok rants and skits started to find their way to my for you page. She talks about her struggles with mental health in more light hearted and funny ways while dressed in all pink with bright pink hair. I personally find her hilarious and as the years went on she began to make more and more music. Her fairy pink outfits and beautiful voice made their way across the US to Chicago this week and I had the privilege to see the sold out show.
Sadly, the Chicago traffic got me and I missed a majority of her opener, Madelline. What I did catch though was full of energy! The venue was already packed and fans were jumping and cheering along as she sang verses in French. Her voice was gorgeous and I was sad I missed the set, but I will definitely be giving her a listen. From what I did catch and what I’ve listened to after the show, her sound is very pop-rock mixed with edgy club beats and what I think she self-proclaimed very well is ‘theatre pop’. I will definitely be keeping an eye on her!
Up next was Peach! The lights went out, the fans erupted in cheers, and a lovely video began to play on screen. Videos of live performances, studio sessions, photo shoots, and other musician related activities compiled on the screen atop of a bubblegum pink background. Her guitarist Chloe entered first, encouraging the audience to cheer and get ready to sing! I will mention the amount of showmanship from the guitarist throughout the set was beautifully balanced and they were a super entertaining hypeman to watch. Peach stepped out on stage and the venue practically shook with cheers. She was wearing this masterfully placed beaded top that was gorgeous and of course, pink. The energy was high and the vocals and sound mixing were executed really well. With impressive high notes and a captivating stage presence, she was a joy to watch. She had the audience in the palm of her hand the whole night. At one point, a fan project appeared, with the audience holding up pink paper cut out hearts with the lyrics “Oh to be young and alive.” from the song they were held up during, ‘Time of My Life’. She chatted with the audience for a moment after that, thanking them and proclaiming “I’m obsessed with this crowd what the heck.” Which garnered chuckles from the crowd. The show also included a pole dance break from Peach as she used to dance as well. Fans cheered her on and applauded her as she exited the stage to grab her mic to continue singing. Her bubblegum-synth-indie-pop sound is super fun and I am excited to see her grow as she continues to make music! Super fun, high energy show and I recommend you check her out!
