Scene Queen - Artist Spotlight
by Ashlyn Siples | May 4th, 2025
Fan of all things pink and girly? Wish that the metalcore scene would have a little more of a Barbie’s Dreamhouse vibe? Tired of the patriarchy ruling everything in the music scene? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Scene Queen is the artist you should be looking into.
Her Story So Far:
Before she was a hyperfeminine, high-energy artist on your TikTok feed, Scene Queen was just like everyone else you know - a midwestern teen running a Tumblr blog and getting sunburnt while crowdsurfing during Sleeping With Sirens’ set at Warped Tour. As time passed, she got older and more aware of the opinions of men in the scene, and the people she looked up to started to turn out to be not so great. From this, the concept of her onstage persona began to form: hyperfeminine and allegedly “man-hating” (according to upset TikTok users), there to make music for all those who found themselves on the negative end of a misogynistic music industry. What happens when you mix all shades of pink, the LGBTQ community, and a hatred for how the industry treats women? You get Scene Queen’s self-proclaimed genre, “bimbocore,” and two identically named EPs (“Bimbocore” volumes I & II) showing off the fact that you can have fun, be lewd, and make music with a meaning all at the same time.
What She’s Up To:
Having released her first full-length album, touring on the Idobi Radio Summer School Tour, as well as opening for PVRIS and Babymetal all since 2024, it’s clear Scene Queen’s been keeping busy. She hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down, though, as she’s slotted in on Vans Warped tour and Rock Fest, popping up at Emo Night, is planning to take off for a summer US tour, and even an early fall tour in the EU and UK. She’s still frequently hanging out on social media in the meantime, so you’ll want to be on the lookout for any more news from her - or updates on her new puppy, Cheese.
What To Listen To:
If you’ve not happened to hear any of her songs come across your TikTok timeline (or maybe you have but just don’t know), don’t worry, there are lots of great ones to choose from. For some of the bashes on the way the industry is run, I’d suggest checking out “Pink Whitney,” “18+,” and “Pink Barbie Bandaid.” Looking for more music you can add to your Pride Month playlist? Add “Pink G-String” and “Pink Panther” into your mix. Also, be sure to check out my personal favorites: “Pink Cocaine,” “Stuck,” and “The Rapture (But It’s Pink).”
