Sophie Powers Drops Newest Single ‘Move With Me’

Sophie Powers is a LA based singer who is definitely one to keep an eye on in the alt-pop scene. I actually first heard of Sophie back in 2022 when she opened for NoahFinnce. She was so full of energy and took hold of the tiny dive bar stage with ease. I crossed paths with her again when she opened for Yungblud in 2023 and got to chat with her a bit about her fashion design (which is pretty cool I highly suggest checking them out she’s uber talented) which if I’m not mistaken she designs a lot of her own outfits she wears on tour. Its been exciting to follow her journey as an artist these past few years. Sophie is a fem attitude alt pop force that is breaking through norms of alternative music.

Her latest single ‘Move With Me’ is ushering in a whole new era for the Canadian singer. The track is a high energy sound that just makes you want to get up and bounce around. The single is moving her into a more raw and chaotic sound that complements the lyrics well. ‘Move With Me’ explores the tension in intimacy in our fast moving world that refuses to slow down. The fast beats throughout the song create that same sense of tension and feeling like you're running to keep up with the pace of the world around you, as well as the raw feelings that come along with that need for intimacy. The sound is a bit more electronic than some of her previous singles, and marks the move of Sophie’s aesthetic into something more dark compared to her usual bubblegum-neon look. Sophie’s sound throughout the years has never really been confined to one particular ‘sound’ per-se. I think she does a great job at exploring the different sub-genres of alternative music while still creating a sense of continuity in who Sophie Power’s is as an artist.
