Catch Your Breath Release Highly Anticipated "Not Broken Enough"

After several single releases to build up hype, “Not Broken Enough” by Catch Your Breath is finally out in the world. Catch Your Breath is a hard rock band hailing from Austin, Texas, cultivating a unique metalcore-slash-rock sound that takes a step outside of the usual boundaries of the genre. Using synthesizer soundscaping, imaginative production, and highly emotional songwriting, they create a unique sound that you’ll only find within their music.
“Not Broken Enough” builds on Catch Your Breath’s sound and is just another showcase that they know who they want to be and aren’t afraid to show it off. It’s electric and highly emotional from start to finish, really dragging you into the band’s storytelling. Speaking on the album, the band says: “‘Not Broken Enough’ is for anyone exhausted by a world that constantly lets them down, who wakes up to the same cycle of disappointment every day but still shows up anyway.”
The first couple of songs introduce you to Catch Your Breath’s stereotypical style of electronic and rock that doesn’t quite blend into the metalcore genre. Leading into “Blood Money,” we get hit with a heavier going track, before an immediate transition into the slower song “Carnivore.” “Control” hits us with our first harsh vocals and heavy breakdowns, and we’re only a few songs into the album. At this point, we’ve already gotten a great taste of Catch Your Breath’s range, which only continues through the rest of the album.
Out of all the tracks, “Lost” stood out as my favorite. It has a little bit of everything you could want: emotional lyrics, fun guitars, and a hard-hitting breakdown. Not to mention that vocalist Josh Mowery hits notes in the song that are much higher than I could ever manage during my car karaoke sessions, which was impressive enough on its own.
Catch Your Breath heads out on a nearly two month long tour next month, celebrating the release of the new album. Be sure to stream the album on whatever platform you prefer and let us know what your favorite track is. And, if you enjoyed the album, you should dive into the rest of their music and consider catching a show near you.
