Having attended BABYMETAL’s previous two tours, I thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect going into their Dallas show. Even then, throughout the night, Su-metal, Moametal and Momometal managed to surprise me in the best way possible.
Billed as their biggest tour ever, the 2026 World Tour has taken the trio across a massive run of North American dates before continuing into Latin America. It is another milestone in what has already been an incredible new chapter for the group
What stood out to me most about their performance was how clearly this show felt curated for the fans. Rather than relying solely on their biggest and most recognizable songs, BABYMETAL reached deeper into their discography for this tour and gave us a setlist that felt both exciting and intentional.
There is an entire world built around their music, from the Fox God and the mythology surrounding the Metal Resistance to the idea of different worlds and stories unfolding throughout their career. It is part of what makes seeing BABYMETAL live such a unique experience. Even after all these years, there is still a sense that you are stepping into another chapter of that story every time the lights go down.
Gimme Chocolate!! will always be one of my favorite BABYMETAL songs, so hearing it live was naturally a highlight for me. At the same time, I found myself really enjoying METALI!!, which was one of the songs that stood out to me most throughout the night. I was also introduced to Sunset Kiss during this show, and it has already earned a spot on my playlist.
This show also felt like an opportunity to see a more raw side of BABYMETAL. Beyond the incredible production, choreography, and costumes there was a much stronger emphasis on their talent and passion as performers. You could feel how much they put into every song, and those moments made the performance feel much more personal.
Seeing how much fun Su, Moa, and Momo have on stage and how naturally they connected with the crowd is what captivated me the most. The production may be massive, but at its heart, the show still felt like it was about the music, the members and their band, and the fans experiencing it together.
After seeing BABYMETAL on their previous two tours, I loved getting to experience another side of what they can do live. Dallas was a night I will always remember, and I cannot wait to see what the Fox God has in store next.
