After teasing fans with billboards and heart shaped padlocks appearing on bridges in multiple cities, the time has finally come! Olivia will be releasing her new album ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ out June 12, 2026. After the success of her last tour and Lollapolooza performances, fans have been eagerly awaiting new music. Ask and you shall receive, because she dropped the lead single from the album last night!

Titled ‘Drop Dead’ Olivia comes back in full force with her emotional, poetic lyrics, and pop sound fans know and love.

The song starts off with a synth, bedroom pop melody, with Olivia’s soft, breathy vocals layered in harmonies floating above it. The lyrical content of the song details Oliva having a pretty intense crush! Classic young love. The scenario starts with her staying up one night and ‘stalking’ this crush on the internet, as all young people do, no one is immune from the occasional Instagram stalking, and creating scenarios in her head about their future together. The chorus details him ‘...looking like an angel on the walls of Versailles, the most alive I’ve ever been, but kiss me and I might drop dead.’ The story of the lyrics do a great job of the million miles a minute your brain goes when feeling all the butterflies and nerves of a new crush and flirting with someone new. The music behind her voice ebbs and flows and builds the tension she is feeling in the lyrics quite well. Its a super catchy beat and it has already been stuck in my head all morning.

She also released a music video to accompany the song. It starts out with her presumably drunk dancing at a local dive bar, spotting her new crush. As a slow zoom into her face transitions into her ‘stalking’ him on the internet in her bed one night, only to reveal her in Versailles running around in her pajamas and headphones. Dancing and skipping with happiness as she imagines her future with her crush, we also get to see all the gorgeous artwork throughout the mansion. Beautiful visuals aid in the conveyance of excitement and joy she is feeling in the lyrics. The video ends with her’ dropping dead’ on the stairs in complete heart-fluttering bliss!

Overall, cute song and great teaser for the rest of the album. I cant wait to see what she has in store for us!
