On May 25th, Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK brought their high-energy Detrox tour, named after their 11th album, to The Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida. Fans lined up hours in advance for the band, even battling against the rainy Florida weather to get into the venue to see the four-piece band perform. Joined by Australian four-piece Stand Atlantic, it was clear that the Hard Rock Live would be filled with energy and excitement all night. About halfway through their Detox tour, One Ok Rock filled up the Hard Rock Live from the floor to the balcony, fans excitedly awaiting their set. VIP before the show had some fans with exclusive merch waiting on the barricade pre-show, and even fans all the way in the back of the pit were buzzing with excitement as openers Stand Atlantic took stage.
Hailing from Australia, Stand Atlantic are no strangers to touring with One Ok Rock; lead singer Bonnie sharing that they toured with the band all the way back in 2019, which also took place at the same venue creating a full circle moment for both bands. Once Stand Atlantic took stage, it was clear that the fans were ready for them. The room immediately lit up as the band opened with “KISSIN’ KILLER COBRAS”, a track from their newest album. Anyone familiar with Stand Atlantic knows that they can easily get a room moving, creating several moments for fans to sing along, dance, and even laugh along with them; their bassist even taking a moment to start a Yoshi chant, which the crowd easily went along with. The band played several songs from their most recent album “WAS HERE”, which recently went number one in Australia, along with older songs that were easily recognized by fans like “hair out” and “deathwish”. As the set progressed, the room only got louder and more energetic, the band doing a great job to get the crowd ready for ONE OK ROCK to take the stage.

When it was time for ONE OK ROCK to come out, the crowd was more than ready to see them, cheering at any moment it seemed like it was time until the lights finally went dark. The set started with graphics appearing on the stage and each member coming on the stage individually, screams getting louder and louder until all four members began the set with “Puppets Can’t Control You.” The crowd was immediately all smiles, full of energy and immediately getting off of their feet even with just the first song. As the set continued, the band played several songs from new album “DETOX” in which the tour shares a name with, as well as other fan-recognizable songs such as “Let Me Let You Go” and “We Are” which closed out the band's set. All throughout the night, the high-energy songs were paired with strobe lights, lazers, and graphic visuals behind the band that created a subversive and fun experience for everyone in the room. Even if you had gone with a friend, it would be almost impossible to not leave as a fan of the band; and for current fans, it was likely an unforgettable night.
ONE OK ROCK continues their DETOX tour through early June, ending the tour in Minnesota, and is definitely a show worth catching.
