Sleeping with Sirens has been a staple in the alternative music scene for over 10 years. They
recently embarked on the “Let’s Cheers To This Tour” named after their album. They kicked off
the tour in Minneapolis before making a stop in Milwaukee and the notorious Rave/Eagles Club.
Teenage Joans took the stage first, a rock duo from Adelaide, Australia. I had the privilege of
seeing the duo back in April when they opened for Noahfinnce in Chicago. For it just being the
two of them, a drum kit, and a guitar, they still brought some solid energy to the room. There
were even fans who had seen the band right up in the front of the floor excited to see them! The
duo definitely had a lot of potential and I think their music will soon be bringing in quite the
audience.
Holding Absence was up next and the second they came on stage the room erupted in cheers.
The energy on stage was so high for a second there I thought the lead singer was going to fall
right through the floor he was jumping so high. The entire band looked like they were having
such a great time and it’s always good to see a band genuinely enjoying what they do everyday.
The moment everyone was waiting for finally came and Sleeping With Sirens made their way on
stage to a room full of screaming midwest emos. This was definitely a bucket list band for me
and it was so exciting to see how much energy there still was in their following. Fans young and
old were jumping all night and singing every word. As Holding absence had mentioned earlier in
the night, “Sleeping With Sirens was that band 10 years ago, and they are still that band today.”
Their energy never seemed to waiver and the whole band was jumping and dancing along with
fans with joy. You could definitely tell everyone in the room had a great time and I hope they
continue to perform at festivals and maybe even another tour in the future!
