SMORZ Just Debuted—and They're Already Melting Hearts

by Britney McVey | May 26th, 2025

A fresh flavor has arrived in K-pop—and it’s sweet, stylish, and completely impossible to resist. Meet SMORZ, the six-member girl group from Echo Entertainment who officially debuted on May 19, 2025, with their first mini album, ALWAYS SOME MORE. Just like the classic dessert they’re named after, SMORZ is the kind of group you instantly want more of.

The name SMORZ is a clever mix of s’more—that irresistible treat you always want another bite of—and Generation Z, the generation these girls proudly represent. The result? A fresh, Gen Z group that blends charm, ambition, and pop perfection, ready to leave their mark on the next wave of K-pop.

Echo Entertainment introduced SMORZ slowly but surely, starting with social media accounts on April 1, 2025. They revealed the members in pairs: Charlott and Lika on May 7, Hira and Zellda on May 9, and finally Vicki and Ginni on May 11. The buzz grew fast—especially around Ginni, who fans already knew from her time on Girls Planet 999.

Then came the big day: May 19, when SMORZ dropped their debut mini album, ALWAYS SOME MORE, led by the catchy title track “I want you to.” The album perfectly captures the group’s colorful vibe, mixing Gen Z confidence with a nostalgic sweetness. The visuals pop, the melodies stick, and the energy feels fresh and alive.

Honestly, from the very first listen of ALWAYS SOME MORE, these girls completely stole my heart. Each song feels like its own personal story, packed with raw emotion and vibrant energy. Since discovering SMORZ, I haven’t been able to look away. Whether it’s the addictive spark of “I Want You To,” the retro groove of “Love Drive,” the aching honesty in “Bleeding Heart,” or the tender warmth of “My Only Love,” this EP takes you on a journey that’s both deeply personal and universally relatable. SMORZ aren’t just performers—they’re storytellers, and their music has become a soundtrack I keep coming back to.

Each member brings something special to the group, creating a dynamic and memorable performance. Ginni stands out with her precise moves and confident stage presence, setting a strong foundation. Vicki commands attention through her sharp tone and bold energy, always leaving an impression. Zellda adds a cool, composed aura, her quiet strength subtly drawing people in. Hira contributes an elegant and expressive style, captivating audiences with her visual storytelling. Lika, a true ray of sunshine, brightens every performance with vocals that light up each song. Finally, Charlott adds a playful, charming vibe, serving as the youthful heartbeat of the group.

Together, they hit the perfect balance of skill, style, and teamwork—exactly what you want from a 5th-generation girl group.

SMORZ isn’t just another rookie group—they’re a fresh taste in K-pop’s ever-growing genre. And if their name is anything to go by, you’ll definitely be wanting more.
