As an ALPHAZ (XG fan name), “IYKYK” is such an exhilarating track that truly captures the essence of what makes this group special. From the first beat, the song reflects XG’s ambition to push boundaries with a fresh and exciting approach. The lyrics express exploration and adventure, inviting listeners to join the members on a journey through an infinite universe.
The song opens with a catchy intro that pulls you in immediately, setting the tone for a cosmic ride. The song samples M-Flo’s “prism,” which adds a nostalgic touch that makes you feel like you’re drifting through space while building excitement for the adventure ahead. It’s such a clever nod to the past, blending old-school vibes with a modern twist that resonates.
Lyrically, “IYKYK” shines brightly. The repeated line “If you know, you know” creates this fun sense of community among fans. It feels like we’re all in on a secret, sharing an inside joke that connects us. This feeling of togetherness is such a big part of being an XG fan; it truly is like we’re all part of one big family on this journey together.

Each member of XG brings their own unique flair to the track, which is one of the things I love most about them. Jurin and Cocona encapsulate the first chorus with their powerful vocals, while Juria and Harvey take control of the final chorus creating a catchy anthem that’s impossible to resist. I am always amazed by the quality these 7 stars bring forth in their group, as they are always improving and showing new sides to their artistry. Chisa and Hinata follow with the first verse, delivering a confident and inviting vibe with lines like “Look where the stars align.” Their chemistry is evident, making you feel like you’re right there with them on this adventure.
Maya and Harvey elevate the energy even more in the second verse, using playful imagery that draws you deeper into the experience. This part of the song is easily my favorite—the way they weave their voices together creates such a dynamic interplay.
With “IYKYK” being the second pre-release single from XG’s upcoming album, “AWE”, it was an honor to be present for the first-ever performance of this song. The day after its release was my stop on XG’s World Tour, which allowed for the perfect timing to properly debut their performance in front of all of their DFW area fans at their Grand Prairie concert on October 12th. The girls had been teasing the song in certain talking points throughout the show, so ALPHAZ excitement grew with anticipation of if they would truly be the first to experience “IYKYK” live.
Overall, “IYKYK” is more than just a catchy pop song; it’s a celebration of exploration, growth, and connection. It highlights XG’s journey as artists and their ability to engage with fans through universal themes. I can’t wait to see what they do next, both in their music and as they finish their world tour. This song has solidified my admiration for them even more, and it is going to be on repeat as we all gear up for the next phase of their journey (aka album release time)!
