Rising pop artists Lillie Kolich & Julia Minichiello release highly anticipated new single “I Bet”

There’s something remarkable about music that can make you feel comfort and heartache all in one fell swoop. Melodies that wrap you in a warm fleece blanket, only that blanket is draped over you on the most dreary day of the year, but at least it’s your favorite color of pastel teal, and it smells like fabric softener and your favorite perfume.
Nothing quite compares to a song that evokes a familiar sense of heartache right alongside the reassurance that you’re not alone.
Since her start, Lillie Kolich has been That Girl. From her first single back in 2021, “wondering…”, all the way to her most recent release with fellow musical storyteller Julia Minichiello, “I Bet”, Kolich is quickly weaving herself into the very fabric of indie-pop ballads. (Gracie Abrams, eat your heart out.)
“I Bet” is a devastating look into the ugly things that one can feel when a relationship isn’t all that it seems. While Kolich reflects upon all of the cliche and overused romanticism, Minichiello regales us with the lies and gaslighting that come along with cheating partners.

Between videos posted to both artists’ TikTok accounts, the song has amassed over 300,000 views, and put countless casual For You Page scrollers onto the highly anticipated release for this heart- wrenching (and, according to comments, all too relatable) tale. Undoubtedly, Lillie Kolich is an artist that we should all be keeping our eyes on.
